Just Another Street “Poem”
Sitting besides a church on Nebraska Avenue
Philip told me Nebraska Avenue is just another street
Jut another checkers on another street where I got sucker punched by a homeless guy for buying him all American cheese burger
I asked Philip “Define Nebraska Avenue in a few words”
“just another street” he replied again
Philip then started selling God like any devotee Christian
I sell him marxism and Nietzscheism in return
I was wearing bob Marley hat he starting singing “Don’t let them school ya! Or even try to fool ya!
One thing I don’t understand is rock music except anything Philip started shouting “Life is Universal Ali baba”
Bla bla bla bla bla our conversations took charge from racism to food stamps to prisons and to drugs
Cars pass by and homeless walking on streets like zombies
“Life is Universal” Philip keep on repeating
Where is this another street taking me?
Two Gays pass by us then street hoes and drug addicts
The Essence of poetry is in experience alone
Another question should I just exist or express?
That unanswered question bothered me to this day
I have to express what I feel more than others
I have to put my visions and dreams into words
Life itself thrown me into such places that makes me a poet not by choice but necessity
Real talk I call it real talk with Philip
I am going on a date and he shed some wisdom on it
I shall not say anymore and go home
